Faith, Inspiration, Life

Who is your covering?

Hello Family,

How are you guys doing?

I’m sure you’ve been doing great.

What about all the New Year goals and resolutions set? Have you started crushing them? If you haven’t, it’s not too late. It’s better late than never.

And if you think things aren’t really the way you want them to be:

I’m here to tell you to keep pressing, don’t stop!

Don’t lost faith and don’t faint.

I know it can be exhausting, especially when you’re not getting any result. Don’t worry, things are changing for better.

Life will soon turn for your favour; just don’t lose heart.

And if you’ve started reaping the fruits and getting results:

Don’t forget where you’re coming from.

Don’t lose focus!

Don’t be comfortable in your little achievement.

Keep pressing for there’s more!

So it was my spiritual father’s birthday yesterday (Pastor Richard Osanaiye) coupled with a 12 days program that started 1st of February.

For some people who know me personally, they’d have realized I’m not a ‘close to Pastor type’ or ‘mentor that’ ‘father this’ kind of person.

I respect men and women of God and hold that position with high esteem and hate to be familiar.

But at exactly February last year, after I resumed to Abeokuta for my Hnd.

I prayed to God to lead me to a place of worship. I don’t just want to go to any kind of church. It doesn’t matter the popularity or how large the congregation is. What matter is:

  • It has to be my place of covering.
  • It has to be where I can be properly nurtured in the word of God.
  • There has to be a connection with my purpose in life.
  • It has to be a place where I can grow and serve God truthfully and also have Liberty.

The list is really inexhaustible but I’d stop there.

Somehow I heard of this church (Glorious Liberty Church)  and the same 12 days of Glory program was to be held.

And it’s not so far from my place of residence. A friend said she had attended but she doesn’t really like the whole impression of her first service there:

They don’t cover their hair.

They speak in tongues at almost everything.

I immediately understood her plight (don’t blame us, we are RCCG children).

Based on personal trainings, I’ve learnt not to judge things that way.

Upon hearing all of that, I developed more reason to attend the church. So I told her I was going to go anyway.

Well I attended the program and just a visit, I could feel the connection right in my heart and bone (like Maureen, where have you been?)

I heard the word of God and it was like I’ve never read my Bible.

Also the excellence in the house was irresistible. And I said in my heart “this is it , thank you Jesus”.

The rest is history.

At first I was uncomfortable opening my hair based on what I’ve been taught but guys, myself and my friends were the weirdest looking people.

God decided to open me up to a shift; a dimension of change which is necessary for my journey.

Truth be told, I had a lot of wrong mentalities and values, misconceptions and unbalanced knowledge.

It took God to order my steps and use a man to teach me a whole lot. I’m still learning and I’ve not even started.

I have not only grown, I now know better.

I’ve come to cherish mentorship, leadership, excellence and honour.

Those who know me 3 years ago can testify to my transformation.

This only happened because God led me to a place, to a man, a family, a covering, a place of planting and I’m not the same old me.

I am becoming!

  • Never trivialize what God is trying to do with your life.
  • Be open to change.
  • Unlearn and relearn.
  • Be flexible.
  • Be deliberate with your life.
  • Depend on God to lead you.
  • Don’t do things just to do them; have a reason – be wise.
  • Don’t follow the crowd.
  • Be sensitive to divine connections.
  • Have a Mentor, a father. It makes your journey faster and reduces your chances of making mistakes.
  • Love with the whole of your heart.
  • Serve with everything in you.

I’ve never been this happy about someone in my life.

But there’s always a beginning of something.

I can boldly say I have ‘A Father’ and he fathers me well and I don’t intend to be familiar.

I just hope you understand the message I’m trying to pass.

Keep following and you’d fully understand.

Love you guys!

Maureen.

PS: Don’t forget to comment and share guys.
